The Maitland Magpies scored two overtime goals to defeat Newcastle Olympic 3-1 in another classic match between the two sides at Cook Square Park.

The game looked headed towards a 1-all draw, until substitute Ben Martin rose high in the middle of penalty area to head home a corner in the 90th minute.
Martin had come on just five minutes earlier and his height posed problems for the Olympic defence.
Speedster Ryan Clarke sealed the match with a pin-point strike in the 95th minute from the left edge of the penalty area. The strike into the right side netting beat two defenders and a a diving attempt by the keeper.
Jimmy Thompson scored for the second week in a row to open the scoring with a classic predatory goal in the 10th minute.
Played in by a long ball, Thompson beat his opponent and the keeper to slot the ball into the back of the net.
Olympic squared the ledger in the 68th minute when the ball was headed into the back from a free kick.
Matches between the Magpies and Olympic have become highlights of the season since former Olympic coach Mick Bolch took the helm at Maitland.
Close finishes and late winners have been the name of the game in fixtures between the two clubs including Maitland's dramatic 2-1 win under lights to advance to the FFA Cup round of 32 in 2019.
