The man demanded cash before fleeing the scene on foot, he was last seen headed west on High Street.
Detectives have released images of a man they believe can assist with their inquiries as investigations continue.
He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 20s, approximately 170cm to 175cm tall, of average build with a light brown patchy/stubble beard.
He was wearing a black hooded jumper with a green jacket over the top, a black baseball cap, black tracksuit pants and black running shoes.
