The contrary conduct charge relates to a controversial finish to the Kurri Kurri and South Newcastle game with the Bulldogs claiming there was a knock-on before Souths crossed for a match-winning try on the bell to win 22-16.
Tempers flared at the end of the match, but Hardy was the only player charged.
Hardy was given 300 penalty points at the judiciary, the equivalent of three matches, with no carry over points.
