It's been 10 years since the first community strategic plan and in that time, the plan has guided the expansion of council programs in areas such as events and place activation and set the agenda for major projects.
These project include the redevelopment of The Levee and The Riverlink building, Maitland Regional Sports Complex and the indoor pool at Maitland Aquatic Centre.
"Council conducts regular reviews of Maitland +10 and currently, we are building on the feedback residents have provided over the past 18 months," Maitland Mayor Loretta Baker said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We've heard that our residents are keen to support community and economic growth but want to manage the impact of population growth on the environment, our social connections, and movement across the city.
"I encourage everyone to get involved in the review and help to shape this important document that will inform our delivery programming as council, and also importantly advocacy to other levels of government in addressing the needs of our community over the next ten years."
The Maitland +10 focus areas are open for community comment until October 10.
The feedback will help inform the development of the draft revised community strategic plan, which will be exhibited for final public feedback in April next year.
'We want to know what matters to our community," Cr Baker said. "This is an opportunity to check in and make sure we have captured the key priorities they want us to work on together so council can continue to deliver on the things that matter to our community."
Residents are encouraged to have their say on what is proposed under the four focus areas of Let's Connect, Let's Grow, Let's Sustain, and Let's Lead, and provide their ideas by visitingmaitland.mysocialpinpoint.com/maitland10.
