All players, officials and spectators aged 16 and over will need to be double vaccinated to train and to participate and view matches. These restrictions will be lifted when the state is fully open from December 1.
Confirmation of the number of grades and teams playing across the regular and one-day competitions will be made at the Maitland and District Cricket Association's next board meeting on October 12
Maitland and District Cricket Association president Mark Warland said the restrictions were part of the NSW Government's roadmap to reopening and about protecting the health and welfare of players and everyone taking part in the competition.
Warland urged all intending players and officials to get vaccinated as soon as possible to ensure they can take part from the start of the season.
"Pretty much the situation is if you are not vaccinated then you don't play cricket," he said.
"It applies to everything - coach, player, volunteer and spectator.
"We just urge people to do the right thing and not come to matches or training unless double vaccinated."
Warland said under the guidelines all clubs that are in control of grounds will be required to have QR checking codes and COVID safety plans in place.
