The Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) revealed the athletics complex is one of four sites shortlisted for the COLORBOND® Award for Steel Architecture.
With 57 entries selected from a field of 807 entries, the shortlisted projects span the full range of architectural practice, from residential to commercial, educational to public architecture and urban design.
The centre includes a World Athletics Certified synthetic athletics track, world class playing field, track and field facilities, floodlighting, a grandstand with a capacity of 560, inclusive change rooms, canteen and two large function spaces.
This year's National Architecture Award Winners will be announced on November 4.
