The storybook experience is made up of 11 window displays telling the classic Christmas tale, and took five artists more than 2000 hours to create.
The displays are up now at Maitland Riverside Plaza and are free to view.
The puppeteer style used is based on animated theatre techniques from France, and is used by some of the world's greatest department stores for their Christmas window displays.

Puppeteer and Christmas window designer, David Poulton, led the project which took six months to bring to life.
Maitland Riverside Plaza Marketing Manager, Riley Pearce, said they wanted to leave an impact on their customers and do something special this year.
"COVID really affected whether or not our community could travel and if our local businesses would have any tourist foot traffic, and since Maitland often relies on tourism we knew we needed to create a Christmas experience for our Maitland locals that was entirely unique not only to the region but also to New South Wales," Mr Pearce said.
According to Mr Pearce, the shopping centre wanted to create a sense of season and bring joy to Maitland and the Hunter.
Maitland Riverside Plaza will also be hosting free digital santa photos from 10am to 2pm on:
