Students of Maitland Public School will benefit from a new outdoor playground, with development to start on Tuesday, November 23 or as soon as weather permits.

The project, which will go in the school's paddock playground, is being funded through the stronger communities program grant, which saw the school get $10, 000 from a successful application from the P&C.
P&C and MPS funding will also help fund the project, which is expected to be completed before December 3.

The new playground is sure to be welcomed by the students, as they currently share one piece of outdoor play equipment between 500.
The new piece is designed to encourage strength based play, physical activity and social interaction between students.
It is intended to be an asset to the whole Maitland community during school holidays, and will be used by MPS and OOSH students during the school term.
