The health district added 15 fresh cases on Friday, with a third from the region.
Newcastle added a case each in Warabrook and Waratah West while Lake Macquarie's three cases all came from Macquarie Hills.
Moree Plains had four, Tamworth had three, Midcoast had two and Armidale a single infection.
Only six of the 15 were infections in the community, while 12 were linked to known contacts or clusters.
Hunter New England Health said seven cases were in hospital, with one in ICU.
There are 502 active cases in the region.
