A cabaret that promises to "tease, terrify and tickle your funny bones" is coming to the Lower Hunter.
Newcastle MC and producer Ms Eclectique will bring A Nightmare Before Christmas to Weston Workers Club on Saturday, December 18.
Fresh from the success of her first show A Nightmare on Beaumont St, Ms Eclectique decided to take her brand of eclectic entertainment on the road to a venue that holds a special place in her heart - Weston Workers Club, where she saw her first live show, Playschool with Benita Collins and John Waters.
A Nightmare Before Christmas is described as an irreverent romp through the silly seasons from Halloween to the end of Yuletide.
Organisers are excited to "get the show on the road" after multiple cancellations, to give local performers a stage and, in particular, to entertain those outside of Newcastle CBD.
"After a very successful Halloween show, we decided to merge the highlights from Halloween with some Christmas capers for the people of the Lower Hunter to enjoy," Ms Eclectique said.
"So A Nightmare Before Christmas was born, and it's going to be bigger and better than our last show.
"We've got burlesque performers, aerial artists, circus, theatre, song and dance - you name it, we've got it.
"I believe in creative freedom, and give my cast a free rein to entertain.
"Everyone is welcome at my shows, whether you're a performer or part of the audience - both are equally important in the creation of a great show."
Ms Eclectique is passionate about providing opportunities for local performers and related industries, and is thrilled to have an all-local line-up for the show, including the sensational Stormy Tempest who calls Abermain home.
"The last 18 months have been very difficult for performers. This will be a great night out helping the Hunter get back on its feet by supporting Weston Workers Club and local artists," she said.
Doors will open at 6pm for a 7pm start. The audience is encouraged to wear their festive best, or aim for chills and thrills in a Halloween costume.
