Jaxon Brooks continued his outstanding Bradman Cup campaign as he and skipper Tom Thorpe starred in Central North's thrilling last over loss to ACT Southern Districts.

Narrabri's Sid Harvey top scored with 33, Thorpe made 31 and Brooks was run out on 19 as Central North posted a healthy 7/127 at Feighan Oval in Warners Bay.
Unfortunately, it was not enough as ACT finished on 7/131 with a ball to spare. Brooks took 2-9 from his five overs and Thorpe 2-34.
Central North are third on the table with 14 points from two bonus-point wins and three losses, sitting behind ACT on top with 24 and North Coastal second on 18.
They face Greater Illawarra at Feighan Oval on Thursday and Western at Cahill Oval on Friday.

Maitland will face Inner West Harbour on Thursday in the semi-finals of the Ballina U13 Cricket Carnival after finishing second their pool when their final round game against Far North Coast Thunder was washed out after just two overs.
The Maitland boys lost to Lake Macquarie in round one and had a nine-wicket win against Tamworth in round two. Billy Ellis was man of the match with the ball taking 4-10 and skipper Tremayne Small made 20 not out.
At the Lismore Under-12 Carnival, Maitland had a win and a loss on day two.
Defending 5/78, Far North Coast's bowlers tore through Maitland's top order leaving them for 5/5 before Max Proctor (23) and Riley Cadman (12) staged a fightback. But it wasn't enough as Maitland was all out for 55.
Charlie Lovegrove was the best with the ball for Maitland taking 2-5.
Maitland bounced back to collect their second win of the carnival after dismissing Armidale for just 23. Connor Curran took 4-6 and Hugo Strachan 2-2. Maitland made 3-24 in reply.
Maitland's under-11s defeated North Coast Reps on Wednesday to record their first win of the Ron Arendts Memorial Shield in Newcastle.
Maitland got off their best start making 6/120 from their 40 overs with Lachlan Berry making 30 and Cody Mills 18.
Cody Mills capped off a fine match taking 3-0 as Far North were dismissed for 88.
Maitland face Tamworth in the their final game of the carnival on Thursday.
