The striker scored his eighth goal of the campaign, converting from the spot in the 31^st minute after the VAR ruled Lachlan Rose guilty of hand ball in the box.

The 23-year-old expertly dispatched the spot kick, sending keeper Filip Kurto the wrong way with a low drive into the right corner.

The Georgian international then rushed to a bag behind the goal and produced a white t-shirt with a Ukraine jersey drawn on it and held it to the sky

But just as the visitors appeared headed for three points replacement Eli Babalj equalised with 11 minutes remaining, muscling his way to a header which deflected off the shoulder of Liam Rose and past Kurto.

It was Babalj' first A-League goal in nine years.

The 30-year-old former Socceroo thought he had a second - and the winner - in stoppage time, but he was flagged for offside.

Jets coach Arthur Papas wasn't aware that Mikeltadze had a tribute planned.

"There is a lot of things happening in the world, I prefer to stay out of that but I know it means a lot to Beqa," Papas said. "I can respect that as well."

Papas was pleased with large parts of the Jets performance but they again paid the price for defensive lapses.

"From a character point of view it was positive," coach Arthur Papas said. "Two times we were behind in the game and we came back, that was really pleasing. There were still areas where if we do a little bit better that we should have come away with a little bit more from an outcome point of view.

"It is a game of details and in those areas the details weren't covered and you get punished for them. That have the quality to punish you. That is one of the best squads in the league. When they get their chances they finish them. In fairness, we had enough chances ourselves. We need to be more clinical. The game could be finished if we take our chances."

The draw moved the Jets to 15 points from 12 games and ended a six-game loss-win-loss sequence.

Papas made two changes from the side that held out Western Sydney 1-0 at home on Wednesday night.

Dane Ingham came in at right back for Dylan Murnane, with Jason Hoffman switching to the left. Sammy Silvera was preferred ahead of Savvas Siatravanis on the right wing.

For Macarthur, Tom Oskok replaced a suspended Aleksandar Susnjar in the heart of defence.

Papas wanted the Jets to play with more intent and they heed the coach's words from the get go.

They had a great chance to go ahead in the ninth minute when Angus Thurgate picked the pocket of Davila and released Daniel Penha who threaded a pass for a flying Olivier Boumal. But the Cameroon's first touch was slightly heavy and allowed Filip Kurto to rush off his line and block the shot.

The Jets were full of running. Mario Arques had a long-range effort deflect off the foot of Tommy Oar and land on the roof of the goal.

Then against the run of play, the visitors struck from a corner.

Craig Noone made the most of a strong southerly and swung a corner from the right to the far post where Uskok climbed above Jordan Elsey and header back across the goal.

The visitor's lead lasted just 12 minutes.

Mario Arques attempted a bicycle kick from a corner which struck the outstretched arm of Lachlan Rose. The Spaniard protested but indiscretion escaped referee Adam Kersley and play had proceed for almost 30 seconds when the VAR intervened.

The Jets thought they had another penalty in the 40th minute when Kurto rushed out and dove at the feet of Silvera, but Kersley ruled the keeper got all ball.

Silvera was dynamic and the 21-year-old went within an inch of his first goal for the Jets on the stroke of half-time, curling a left foot shot which beat everything bar the crossbar.

They bombed another chance 30 seconds later when Boumal passed when a better option may have been to shoot with his favoured left foot.

By the break, the Jets had crafted six shots to four including one that thudded into the crossbar and had 56 per cent of the ball.

The Bulls grabbed the ascendancy early in the second half and went ahead through a blistering volley from Tommy Oar.

Jack Duncan made a great reflex save to deny replacement Al Hassan Toure. The Jets could only clear to the edge of the box and Oar unleashed with a stunning left foot strike.

The Jets pushed hard for for equaliser.

Penha forced diving save from Kurto in the 78^th and a minte later they were back on level terms.
