Glenda Grugeon lodged separate applications against her former father-in-law Hilton Grugeon and former sister-in-law Stephanie Mortel in Maitland Local Court last month but withdrew both on Thursday.
Representing Mr Grugeon and Mrs Mortel, who were not in court, barrister Mark Preece opposed Ms Grugeon’s application and said his clients’ would seek legal costs.
On the first appearance of the matter in February, Ms Grugeon sought protection against her former father-in-law, who she said had gone to her property uninvited.
Ms Grugeon is now the subject of an AVO taken out by police for the protection of Mrs Mortel.
A 12 month final order was made by magistrate Les Mabbutt after Ms Grugeon pleaded guilty to assaulting her former sister-in-law on January 24.
Police said Mrs Mortel went to Ms Grugeon’s workplace to speak with her brother – Ms Grugeon’s ex-husband about financial matters.
The couple and two women were working in an office when Mrs Mortel arrived and said: “Oh, happy family reunion. I wasn’t invited.”
Mrs Mortel asked one of the women to leave: “You are not permitted to be here, are the police needed to be called to remove you?”
Ms Grugeon then asked Mrs Mortel to leave but she said she would leave when one of the other women left.
Mrs Mortel spoke with her brother in private for a few minutes and then one of the women left.
When Mrs Mortel said “thanks for coming and going,” Ms Grugeon glared at her and said if she came there again she would call the police.
The women began to argue about AVOs when Ms Grugeon grabbed Mrs Mortel’s neck and hair and pushed her back against a bench.
Court documents said the women have known each other for 26 years.
Ms Grugeon’s solicitor said her client was remorseful for the incident and handed herself into police.
She will be sentenced in May.
