Holy week was celebrated at St Peter’s Anglican Church with services on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
“We had a really terrific and profound Holy Week – hundreds of people passed through the church doors to celebrate Easter,” Father David Battrick said.
Father Battrick said in addition to weekly parishioners, families and visitors to the area made their way to the church for weekend services.
“It’s a place people can come, and Easter is a time when people want to think about the deeper things in life and this is a beautiful building to reflect in.”
Father Battrick’s Sunday service message was to be surprised by the joy of Easter.
He said although we have all heard the story it is important to listen again and hear the message.
A number of parishioners also renewed their baptism vows during Sunday mass.
During his Good Friday service Pope Francis prayed for peace in the Middle East and stronger Christian-Muslim dialogue.
Tens of thousands of people celebrated Sunday mass at the Vatican where the new Pope issued his message from the balcony of St Peter’s Basilica.
