It doesn’t get much better than this for Ngangarra Barker.
Last week the Raworth teenager was named player of the tournament at the National Under-16 Championships for rugby union after helping the Australian Indigenous squad to a second division title.
On his return from Sydney on Friday Barker played for the under-17 Worimi Dolphins in the NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout held at Raymond Terrace during the long weekend.
This month the West Maitland junior starts training with the Newcastle Knights under-18 summer squad in hope of securing a spot in the SG Ball team for 2014.
And next month he joins the Under-16 NSW Indigenous All Stars rugby league team bound for Europe on a World Cup adventure which includes matches in France, training with the Kangaroos and a seat at Wembley for the tournament semi-finals.
Not a bad little run at all for the talented 16-year-old, who attends Hunter Sports High School.
