Firm rumours and band leaks are so far non-existent, which is likely a huge relief for the promoters following last year's full line-up being let out of the bag 24 hours early.
But with any festival it is always fun to speculate who may be heading Maitland's way this year.
My predictions last year were very hit and miss, though my wild clutching of straws did correctly include The Amity Affliction, Alpine, Urthboy and Flume.
Groovin The Moo has brought a lot of big international artists to Maitland Showground, from The Black Keys to The Kooks, Kaiser Chiefs, The Wombats and Vampire Weekend.
The line-up each year always ticks the necessary boxes for a memorable music festival, catering to fans of hip hop, dance, rock, indie pop and the heavier genres.
With this in mind - as well as some educated guessing - here's a break down of who might be putting smiles on the faces of Groovers in 2014.
A perfect fit for Groovin The Moo this year would be London indie-popsters Bombay Bicycle Club.
The four-piece are popular in Australia, have played the likes of Falls Festival and have 2014 dates in Europe booked until Friday, March 21 when they visit Manchester's Albert Hall.
And to make this argument even more compelling - the group releases its fourth record, So Long, See You Tomorrow, on February 3.
The timing would also be perfect for Southampton alt-rockers Band of Skulls, who release new album, Himalayan, on April 1.
The group are familiar with the Aussie festival circuit, would bring a massive dose of rock and have 2014 dates booked up until only Friday, April 18.
A question most punters are probably asking is - will the lady of the hour, Lorde, be at Groovin?
The Kiwi songstress is making an appearance at the upcoming Laneway Festivals as well as the South American Lollapolooza festivals in March.
Given her immense popularity you would have to assume Lorde would be at the top of Groovin's shopping list.
Pencil her in.
UK dance duo Disclosure had a massive year in 2013 and are likely to have a number of songs featured prominently in the upcoming Triple J Hottest 100.
They have a gap in their 2014 touring schedule that could neatly fit Groovin The Moo.
Another good fit would be American indie rockers The War On Drugs.
The band were just in Australia to play Falls Festival but are releasing their third record, Lost In A Dream, on March 18.
The epic atmosphere of first single, Red Eyes, suggests that the album could be huge.
Interestingly, there is a gap in the group's 2014 touring schedule from April 17 to May 27.
That leaves room for "da Moo".
British electro duo Goldfrapp were due to return Down Under for the cancelled Harvest Festival tour in November.
Unlike a number of other Harvest acts, the pair were reportedly not keen to lock in their own headline tour but tweeted in September that they "hope there will be another opportunity soon" to head to Australia.
Could Groovin The Moo be that opportunity?
In terms of Australian acts, there's quite a few that are surely shaping up for a big year of touring in 2014.
The Jezabels release their anticipated second record, The Brink, on January 31.
They have toured with Groovin The Moo before and are a good chance of making a return appearance.
After a nine-year break Spiderbait have released a new self-titled album.
They've played the Moo before and, as anyone that has seen them at a festival knows, they can work a crowd of any size.
Fingers crossed we'll see them back in Maitland.
Cut Copy returned with a new record in November called Free Your Mind.
While the lads seem to spend most of their time overseas these days, they're back in Australia soon for the Future Music Festival tour.
They also have 2014 dates announced until Friday, April 18 - before Moo's first date on Friday, April 25.
GTM would be great chance for Cut Copy to play to fans in regional areas - so maybe we'll see them in Maitland this year?
Sydney metalcore group Northlane made a big impact in 2013 with second album, Singularity.
They played a big headline tour last year and are booked in for the Big Day Out.
Previous Moo line-ups have featured Parkway Drive and The Amity Affliction.
Northlane seem ready to step up to the Moo plate.
Last year was a breakthrough for Rufus and their debut record, Atlas.
The synth-pop trio suit Groovin's party atmosphere to the ground and would be a natural choice.
A number of Aussie artists have just released - or are planning to release - new music.
You may see the likes of Vance Joy, Illy, Cloud Control, The Holidays, Kid Mac, World's End Press, Papa Vs Pretty, The Preatures, Kingswood and Jinja Safari on the Groovin bill.
The promoters of Groovin The Moo threw a Sydney dance party in December called The Plot.
It featured future stars of Australia's electronic scene, including Wordlife, Wave Racer, Indian Summer, Willow Beats and Hayden James.
Was the event a big audition for this year's Groovin tour?
Perhaps.
Expect to see a few of these hot new DJs at Maitland Showground this April.
Anyone hoping for a sneaky return for HAIM or Local Natives can rule them out - they already have conflicting tour dates booked in.
American rapper Childish Gambino said on Triple J this week that he would love to try and make it down to Australia this month, but his time is running out.
Maybe he could join the Groovin The Moo bill?
Another potential Groovin act is Foster The People, who are planning to release their anticipated second album in "early 2014".
Another possibility is London electro-pop group Metronomy who release new record, Love Letters, on March 10.
Then there's American rock band Black Lips who are putting out their latest album, Underneath The Rainbow, on March 18.
So, in summary, the GTM line-up for 2014 could look like:
