Wearing the green and gold and representing Australia in a World Cup final against England at Headingley takes some topping according to the 23-year-old from Bolwarra.
“It would have to be the best game I’ve been involved in,” Gavan told the Mercury after the decider.
“World Cup final at Headingley in front of an almost all-English crowd and to win, it doesn’t get any better.”
The Australian side won the university section of the World Cup festival 26-16 against the hosts.
