A jet-setting architect, Bernard is engaged to three flight attendants but when a new turbo-charged Boeing is introduced, Bernard’s life starts to unravel and he soon discovers that one woman is all he can handle.
This is Boeing-Boeing and the first Maitland Repertory Theatre performance for 2014.
“I just love farce and for me Boeing-Boeing is one of the better ones,” play director Steve Ryan said.
“Besides, I performed it in 1976 when I was but a lad and I’ve wanted to direct it ever since. It’s a good, classic farce.”
Boeing-Boeing will also introduce the theatre’s newcomers Phil Parker, Andrew Hall and Rebbeca Stranger.
“The thing I love about directing is the control. I think I’m at the age where performing is getting a little bit beyond me but I also like to put my take on plays,” Mr Ryan said.
“I just love the process of directing.”
Boeing-Boeing opens tomorrow night at the Maitland Repertory Theatre and will run until February 23.
