Clifton has the favourite, All Irish, for the feature event at the Maitland Show Ground race track and on recent form is expected to be hard to beat.
The black bitch has won four of her five career starts, including a victory in last week’s heat, where she ran the quickest time over the 450 metre journey, finishing in 25.34 seconds.
All Irish has also drawn favourably in the one box and the young, improving bitch is expected to continue her fine form.
Clifton’s charge won’t have it all her own way though, with Jason Mackay’s Tricky Rose likely to challenge.
The fawn bitch will represent Mackay’s Richmond Vale kennels when she jumps from box six and is the most experienced runner in the field.
Davettes Dynasty will also be a big chance after being well drawn in box seven.
Maitland Greyhound Club sponsorship and promotions manager Fred Robertson said he is expecting a quality final.
“It looks like being a very hotly contested final,” he said.
“It should be a good meeting for the punters and hopefully we get some more of this beautiful weather for the meet and to lead into Anzac Day.”
All Irish is Robertson’s best bet of the day in the final in race eight.
Lochinvar trainer Louise McGee will bring three big chances to Maitland again, with Revlon Babe among the favourites in race seven.
The black bitch has won her last four starts and will be hard to beat again, while Silver Steel in race nine and Sweeney’s First in the last will also be among the chances.
Racing starts at 3.57pm, while the Anzac Cup final is scheduled for 6.10pm.
