Mr Parsons was selected for his significant contribution to numerous programs including graffiti removal and the RYDA program and was presented with the award at the 2014 Rotary Annual Change Over.
“Col Smith was our first president and every year our current president picks out someone who ticks all the boxes and I guess this year they said ‘give it to Bob’,” he laughed.
As a member of the club since 1977, Mr Parsons said Rotary was an important part of his life.
“This town has been good to me and Rotary is an awesome organisation to be a part of to give something back,” he said.
Michael Weatherall and Allan Lambert were also presented with Paul Harris Fellowship medals for their service to the club, with Allan Lambert selected as president for the next year.
A special presentation was also held to recognise the attainment of Paul Harris Sapphire pins throughout the year by Bob Kerr, Ron Cant and Terry New.
