More than 200 people are expected to attend The Long Table Dinner under the stars, as part of the Dungog Festival, on August 28.

My Kitchen Rules contestants Carly Saunders and Clarence Town-raised Tresne Middleton, will prepare a spectacular dessert to top off a Hunter Valley feast.

Local suppliers Bunna Banoo Olive Grove, Fosterton Farm Bakery and Destiny Haven will provide produce for the dinner along with the Dungog community garden at Dungog Primary school and local farms.

Carly and Tresne, who will soon launch their own series of Hunter Valley food and wine tours, will complete the long table dinner with a raspberry and rosewater bavarois with a rose petal praline, orange meringue and pistachio crumb, as featured on the popular reality television show.

Other restaurants serving up dishes include local favourites Chillbillies, The Tall Timbers, Rattlers Restaurant, Clarence Town Cottage Café and Clarence Town Bakery.

The Long Table Dinner will double as a launch party for the four-day festival of food, film, music and outdoor activities across the Dungog Shire.

The Dungog Festival, a new event for the Hunter showcasing film, food, music and local community, will be held for the first time from August 28 to 31.

It will screen Australian and international films, with a program of food, music and community events to provide a complete cultural experience.
