The Hunter Bowmen raised more than $2000 for the organisation during the 30/30 weekend shootout.
“Palliative care was chosen by a club member who had a good friend use the group,” Hunter Bowmen publicity officer Jason Archer said.
Seventy shooters, the youngest eight years and the oldest in his late 70s, shot life-size 3D targets on Saturday and Sunday.
Money raised from the competition entry fees will go directly to the local palliative care group.
“We’ve had a lot of good sponsors come on board and donate to a raffle,” Mr Archer said.
“Thanks to Bloomfield Mine which allow us to use their land to shoot on.”
The fund-raiser was the first for the Hunter Bowmen on the Ashtonfield site they have occupied for about eight years.
The club has been going for 30 years.
“It’s a good family club, it’s like on big extended family,” vice-president Robin Huckett said.
