Monster Storm will jump from box two and is a short-priced favourite for Castlereagh trainer Lewis Galea.
The black dog has won 14 of his 24 career starts and is regarded as one of the best short-course dogs in the state.
Blessed with blinding early speed Monster Storm also relishes racing at Maitland having won four of his six starts at the track.
Isabel Enlim will offer the greatest challenge to Monster Storm after being ideally drawn in box one.
The black bitch from Len Haaring’s Cook’s Gap kennel has the speed to battle Monster Storm and with a good start could be able to hold off other challengers.
Zipping Jye, Magic All Over and Silver Steele will also be among the live chances.
Elsewhere, Darran Sultana’s Silent Effective will look to make it five wins from its last six starts when the blue dog jumps from box two in race six.
The Londonderry trained dog has won eight of his 11 career starts and should continue his good form at Maitland.
The promising young dog broke the 25 second barrier in a performance trial at Maitland and will be hard to beat although Spring Ricky will offer decent competition.
Jamie Bennett’s Montoey is the pick of the bunch in race nine after being well boxed out wide.
In race 10, Pelaw Main trainer Cheryl Murray’s Mean Mr Mustard has stepped out of the maiden class and will be among the favourites.
Maitland Greyhound Club sponsorship and promotions manager Fred Robertson said the event is the club’s annual Telarah community race day.
“It is our major race day of the year for the business houses in Telarah,” he said.
“It is certainly another very strong program.”
