Bluestone Global advised the Australian Stock Exchange on Monday night that Korda Mentha had been appointed as the company’s voluntary administrators.
ResCo is a major provider of mining services in Hunter Valley and as a subsidiary of Bluestone Global, it will go into liquidation.
In a statement KordaMentha said that along with local ResCo management it had been concentrating on ‘‘a smooth transition of the on-hire workforce to other supplementary labour suppliers in the Hunter Valley’’.
It said it expected more than 95 per cent of the on-hire labour force in the Hunter to remain in employment at the same site.
That included about 220 truck operators, 35 light vehicle trades and a further 80 staff engaged on various other sites will be transitioned to new employment.
Craig Shepard from KordaMentha said the company was ‘‘hopeful’’ the majority of the on-hire workers would be engaged by other labour suppliers.
‘‘Because of the nature of their on-hire employment contracts, the Bluestone workforce should find it easier to be re-engaged to do the same work,’’ he said.
