The publication is a comprehensive guide to choosing a block of land and building a home in the Maitland area.
“We’ve got plenty of projects across a diverse area with plenty of options,” Hunter Housing Industry Association executive director Craig Jennion said.
“The Hunter’s lifestyle means there’s a bit of something for everyone from the rural outlooks to the beaches close by.
“You can get to where you want to without too many traffic delays.”
Hunter Home and Land reveals the tremendous variety in home sites available, at affordable prices.
Mr Jennion said the Hunter was in an enviable position in the construction and development industry.
“What’s good about Maitland and Port Stephens in particular is that these councils are supportive of the development industry,” he said.
“It means developers have confidence in the area, which creates competition and helps keep the costs down for the consumer.”
The latest figures drive home that point.
“Generally our housing is really affordable,” Mr Jennion said.
“The average [lot price] in the last quarter was just $177,000.”
Hunter Home and Land is a free 32-page guide included in the weekend edition of the Mercury.
It provides home buyers with the contact details for various land releases and builders in one easy-to-read publication.
