Dibley will head to Melbourne next week with the NSW under 14s squad to compete in an invitational tournament.
“We go to Sydney for training on Saturday and Sunday and then we head to Melbourne,” she said. “We have a game a day and then semis.”
It will be the 14-year-old’s first interstate sporting assignment despite having played all across NSW.
“I haven’t been out of NSW to play before,” she said.
“I have played at Tamworth, Wagga, Bathurst, Sydney and Lithgow but never out of the state.”
Girls and boys squads from NSW, Victoria and ACT will take part in the tournament, which starts with coaching sessions for each side on Monday.
Matches commence on Tuesday with finals scheduled for Friday.
Dibley, who was part of the NSW under 13s squad last year, said she was looking forward to week of hockey.
“It is a lot more professional, training and travelling together and all the uniforms,” she said.
“Playing on a new complex will be really nice as well plus the experience of playing against high level players, everyone is good.”
This will cap off a big year for Dibley, a striker, who won her Newcastle under-18 grand final with Souths and played semis for the same club in second grade.
On the representative front Dibley was part of the Newcastle under 15s and Hunter Academy squads.
She also had school carnivals at both under-15 and open level.
