Members of the East Maitland RSL Women’s Auxiliary took a trip back in time yesterday to host a roaring ’20s day for the worthwhile cause. “We are always busy raising money for the auxiliary’s welfare and benevolent fund and it’s an ongoing cause,” secretary Barbara Chamberlain said.
“And with our men now in Afghanistan this need is never
going to stop.”
President Narell Sattler said the group also needed new members.
“Our membership has been slipping for sometime now and we are down to just 26,” Ms Sattler said.
“In the 1960s there were about 56, so we are definitely on the look out for members, but it is difficult.”
