Jaylen, a mad fan of the blue and whites, will be cheering on his heroes on Sunday afternoon hoping to see his hero Josh Reynolds lift the trophy.
Not that he had any say in who he was going to support, according to his dad Jason.
“He had no choice, it was always going to be Canterbury.”
Mr Dudley, from Kurri Kurri, can’t wait to share the experience of the day with his son who was born one week after Canterbury last won the competition in 2004 when they downed the Sydney Roosters 16-13.
“Jaylen hasn’t seen them win the comp, not yet,” Mr Dudley said.
“We went down in 2012 when we lost to the Storm.
“Hopefully it’s a different result this time.”
Mr Dudley, who has supported the Bulldogs for the past 27 years, said he was hoping for the best when Canterbury attempts to stop a rampant South Sydney at ANZ Stadium.
“In my heart I’d love to see them win,” he said.
“Honestly I didn’t give them a chance against Melbourne or Manly or Penrith and they’ve just kept winning somehow.”
Jaylen was more confident than his dad.
“Souths have got zero chance,” he said.
