The mesmerising brew will be one of three twisted tipples showcased by the brewer at Maitland Gaol’s Bitter and Twisted International Boutique Beer Festival next month.
“We are excited to be returning to Bitter and Twisted in 2014,” Keith Grice said.
“Along with some of our favourite regular beers, we will also be pouring three of our own twisted concoctions, Liquid Bacon, Cranky Pants and a third beer that we’re keeping under wraps until the festival.”
This year’s event will showcase 80 beers from local, national and international brewers.
Maitland’s only genuine craft beer hotel The Pourhouse will make its first appearance at the festival this year.
Taking over historic B wing for the weekend, The Pourhouse will bolster the range of beers available at the
festival by pouring from an additional 12 brewers.
Licensee Troy Taylor said ales had been selected from Tasmanian, Victorian, the US and international brewers new to the festival.
“Here at The Pourhouse we have put a lot of thought into what will be on our tap menu for the weekend and can’t wait to share that with festival goers,” Mr Taylor said.
Other brewers taking part in Bitter and Twisted 2014 include Australian Brewery, Murray’s Craft Beer Co, Grand Ridge Brewery, Matso’s Brewery, Macarthur Grange Brewery, Morpeth Brewery and Beer Co amongst many others.
“The interest from brewers this year has been strong and with The Pourhouse on board for the first time as well, the event is sure to provide something to everyone’s taste, along with gourmet food and an exciting line up of bands,” Maitland City Council events co-ordinator Adam Franks said.
The boutique beer festival returns to the historic site on November 1 and 2.
