The Melinda Finn-trained bunch will line up in five heats of the 2014 Future Stars series, with winners to progress to next week’s lucrative final.
The Cranebrook-based group, all by El Grand Senor out of Ramblin’ Ruby, will be led by Winsome Amanda in the second and followed by Winsome Jacko in the third, Winsome Mission in the fourth, Winsome Warrior in the fifth and Winsome Bluey in the last on the impressive 10-race program.
It will be first up starts for each of the Winsome crew at the weekly Maitland greyhound twilight meeting.
This will be the case for most of the 64 starters across today’s eight heats over the 400 metre distance, with only 26 having raced competitively.
Another trio of debutants belong to NSW Metropolitan trainer’s premiership title holder Jason Mackay with his Richmond Vale-based Zipping Midge, Zipping Lenny and Zipping Dermot having a crack in heats three to five respectively.
Aberglasslyn’s Jeffery Jaeger has two runners in action, with Marina’s Prince in the opener and Bright Force in the ninth.
Also going around at Maitland will be Gauge This for Greta’s Walter Simmons, One Tree Lee for Swan Bay’s Charlie Lamb, Devine Lad for North Rothbury’s Patrick Parrelli and Old Spice for Terry Priest of Sawyers Gully.
Early scratchings for the Future Stars are Caloola Rebel (race nine, number one) and the first reserve for the same heat Stress Me Not (race nine, number nine) with second reserve Duanna Keroma expected to get a run (race nine, number 10).
The other two events on the bill are finals with the 450m GBOTA Sprint Series decider following the 400m Blue Paws.
Winsome Prince (race eight, number seven) and Francine (race six, number six) are looking to extend recent winning runs in their respective races.
Both finals are worth $1500 to the winner.
Maitland Greyhound Club sponsorship and promotions manger Fred Robertson said Winsome Prince was his best bet of the day.
First race jumps at 3.56pm.
