On the edge Howe’s Lagoon at East Maitland, the school takes inspiration from the work of Rudolf Steiner to provide a creative environment for the 200 children from preschool to year 10.
The fair and open day welcomes everyone in the community to indulge in experiences and crafts not always found at other school fairs.
Stalls will include the children’s handmade crafts and toys, a curry stall and workshops to create a kite, bees wax candles, felt jewellery and handmade bracelets.
Garden and gourmet food lovers will appreciate the fresh produce and plants, cakes and quiches, slices and salads and a sausage sizzle.
Homemade lemonade and icy cups are expected to be a popular choice, along with the chai tent and coffee shop.
There will be live performances and roaming minstrels for visitors to sit and enjoy and for the energetic guests there will be canoe rides, story telling and games of skill and daring.
“This is a creative school where the children spend time every day singing and working on a holistic education, academic and intellectual, social and physical development,” parent and organiser Mikola Lee said.
“There will be a display of children’s work and they will entertain visitors with their beautiful music during the open day.
“It is an opportunity for families to discover our school community.”
Linuwel School is at 133 Morpeth Road, East Maitland. The family fair and open day will be held from 10am until 3pm.
