This was the finding of a joint heavy vehicle inspection operation by the NSW Environment Protection Authority and Roads and Maritime Services on Thursday, which was carried out in response to community concerns about truck movements in the area.
“It was pleasing to see the majority of drivers were complying with the rules today and the noise levels of the vehicles pulled over were all within the required limits,” EPA Hunter manager Adam Gilligan said.
“EPA Officers used specialised equipment to measure exhaust noise levels of heavy vehicles to check they did not exceed the legal limits.
“Roads and Maritime officers also inspected the condition of the vehicle and checked that loads were appropriately secured.”
