The Tenambit grandmother was drawn as the winner of the Maitland Mercury Christmas Toy Promotion on Thursday.
Mrs Parker dropped into the Mercury office yesterday to collect almost $1000 worth of toys from Toyworld Maitland.
Entrants were required to send in five consecutive promotion coupons from the Mercury to be in the running.
Mrs Parker said she was surprised but delighted to get the call last week.
“It was lovely,” she said.
“We were at out Brewarrina near Bourke and I said ‘don’t tell me I’ve won the toys’.
“She said ‘yes you have actually’.
“I haven’t won anything this big before, it was very exciting.”
The gifts included popular toys from the movies Frozen and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles along with dolls, trucks and scooters.
Mrs Parker said her four grand children would be the main beneficiaries of her win.
“They’ll think it’s lovely,” she said.
“We’ve just come back from seeing them, I might have to pop out for another visit.”
Toyworld Maitland owner Gareth Rodgers also joined Mrs Parker yesterday.
