Lochinvar-raised Hollywood movie star Abbie Cornish has moved another step closer to launching her rap music career.
The actress was a member of Hunter hip hop crew Blades of Hades, later known as Blades, before she became a major movie star.
Cornish, who is recording a debut EP under her stage moniker MC Dusk, has been announced as the support act for American artist Nas when he tours his Illmatic show in Australia next month.
"Can't wait to go on tour with Nas in January in Australia. Hope to see ya'll there," Cornish tweeted.
She has been working on the EP Key Of The Sun for more than a year, and it seems a release date is imminent after the Suckerpunch andRobocop star told E Online in February: "It should be released toward the end of the year."
Cornish also spoke about the project with Hip Hop Hollywood in February.
"I've worked so hard on this album," she said.
"It's an album that's come from deep within me and I've wanted to make a solo album for a long time."
This month Cornish wrapped filming on Geostorm, a a sci-fi action film due for release in 2016.
The actress will also appear in the thriller Solace, alongside Colin Farrell and Sir Anthony Hopkins.
Meanwhile her younger sister Isabelle is still pursuing a career in Hollywood and plans to launch her own fashion and culture website in 2015.
Cornish will perform as Dusk with Nas in Sydney on January 22 and 23.
Tickets to the January 23rd show are sold out.
