Kurri Kurri continued their run with a 58-54 victory over East Maitland, putting them seven points clear at the top of the table.
East Cessnock bounced back from last week’s loss to narrowly beat Maitland City 59-58.
Next week East Maitland will attempt to end Kurri Kurri’s winning streak and East Cessnock will face bottom-of-the-table Maitland City.
Kurri Kurri’s success continued in grade 2 over the weekend, with the club beating East Maitland 62-56.
In grade 3, Singleton RSL beat Maitland Park 66-51 and East Maitland defeated Paxton 51-49.
In grade 4, East Cessnock downed Kurri Kurri 65-58, Cessnock City drew with Bellbird Park on 60 points and Maitland City beat Greta Workers 66-58.
In the Hunter District Junior Fours final, the team of I Parsons, C Forster, K Egar and J Herbert defeated J Threadgate, S Kirkman, J Newman and C Threadgate 19-13.
In this year’s pennants season there are 51 teams contesting 10 competitions.
Grades five to seven have two sections each. East Maitland are the most represented club with nine sides in the weekly 12-man contests.
