Tocal Field Days, which was to be held last weekend, was cancelled because of the super storm and resulting flood that hit the Maitland area.
Field Days chairman Cameron Archer said planning for next year’s event would begin in the coming weeks.
“We know that many of the exhibitors are small businesses that factor the Field Days trading into their annual operation,” Dr Archer said.
“The Field Days Association has resolved to refund site fees or carry them forward for the 2016 event.
“Those exhibitors who agree to hold over their booking for the 2016 event will have their location, tickets and power at exactly the same price as they have had for 2015.
“There will be no increase in fees for these exhibitors.”
Dr Archer said the association was disappointed that this year’s event had to be cancelled after advice from emergency service authorities that the bad weather and fractured concrete at the Mindaribba culvert posed a safety risk.
“Tocal Field Days organisers have been overwhelmed by messages of support and understanding given the fact that the 2015 event had to be cancelled,” he said.
“The Field Days has developed tremendous loyalty and support in the community.
“We greatly value the support as it is what has made the Field Days so successful over the past 30 years.
“Tocal Field Days are an important component in the life of Tocal College and rural industries in the region. It will be missed by many including all those who work at Tocal.
“It is an event when people see each other and enjoy all things agricultural.”
