The incident, which also involved a 14-year-old girl, did not occur on school grounds.
Child Abuse Squad detectives arrested a 15-year-old boy on Tuesday, July 21 and he was charged with five counts of producing, disseminating or possessing child abuse material, and one count of inciting a person under 16 years to commit an act of indecency.
He has been granted conditional bail to appear at a children’s court next month.
The incident has prompted police to remind teenagers that the dissemination of any material depicting nudity or sexual activity involving young people could constitute a criminal offence.
Teenagers should be aware they could be arrested, charged and, if convicted, they could end up with a criminal record.
