Event organiser Bruce Corke said 308 vehicles featured in the motorfest and about 2500 visitors passed through the showground to look at the vehicles on Sunday.
He said the speedway hot rod display was the most popular attraction for visitors.
“It’s been a very successful day,” Mr Corke said.
Thornton man and hot rod enthusiast Paul Coombe said Maitland Motorfest was an enjoyable event each year.
After owning several old Holden cars since he was a teenager, Mr Coombe said he bought his first classic hot rod in 2005.
In 2010, he bought the vehicle he had on display on Sunday, a 1932 three window Ford coupe, which he called his dream hot rod.
“I love it, I can’t get out in it enough,” he said.
“It’s just like driving a late model car, it’s got all the late model gear on it. It’s beautiful to drive.”
Money raised during Maitland Motorfest will be donated to Thornton-based charity Aussie Care.
But the total amount was still being tallied on Sunday when the Mercury went to press.
