So says Mai-Wel CEO Pennie Kearney who thanked Maitland people for unwavering support for the organisation and its people.
Ms Kearney met with minister for disability services John Ajaka who was in Maitland to visit The Hub yesterday.
“For many years we talked about this place and it is a dream come true,” Ms Kearney said.
“The number of people coming here has increased and it is something we can all be proud of.”
The Hub receives state government funding and is open to people with a disability to take part in creative arts and living skills programs.
“This place gives people the opportunity to get value out of what they do every day and inclusion.”
Mr Ajaka said The Hub does incredible work.
“It is a collaboration and partnership between Mai-Wel, families, staff, clients and the community, which makes it happen.”
