The Mai-Wel Group’s Annual Celebrity Comedy Debate raked in more than $20,000, with all donations counted, and will fund the Creative Arts Program.
“The funds raised will provide a huge boost to Mai-Wel’s Creative Arts Program, which provides all-inclusive art and performance opportunities for people with a disability or disadvantage in our local community,” Mai-Wel CEO Pennie Kearney said.
The DFK Crosbie-sponsored debate tackled the perennial question, “Is youth really wasted on the young?”
Celebrities Cal Wilson and Lex Marinos thrashed it out with home-grown talent like the Mercury’s Josh Callinan.
More than 250 guests attended the event, purchasing raffle tickets and bidding on a range of exciting auction items.
