The Maitland community came to the defence of a Connor Wink following the incident on the weekend.
He was busking in the supermarket to raise money for the Variety, a children’s charity, when one shopper decided to take ire.
The customer reportedly made an angry complaint to management in front of shocked onlookers.
One of these onlookers was Katie Ayscough, who went straight to the Woolworths Facebook page to have her say on the incident.
“I and everybody else in store thought he was great and truly an inspiration,” her post read.
“Not only does he have the courage to get up there and sing to raise money for an amazing organisation, I can’t even imagine the strength he has living everyday with such a vision impairment.
“He proves that nothing is impossible.”
The post quickly went viral with more than 300 shares and 250 comments within days.
Everyone was in support of Mr Wink and hoped Woolworths would continue to help Variety raise money.
Woolworths at East Maitland has since invited Mr Walsh back to perform on November 14.
“Thank you Woolworths for promoting and fundraising for such a great cause,” Ms Ayscough wrote.
