Mrs Goodwin was curator at the museum for 10 years and is the longest serving volunteer with 14 years service.
She is now the museum secretary and loves all things history, especially Morpeth’s long and rich heritage.
“I have always enjoyed the history of the town and working with the collection,” Mrs Goodwin said.
“I enjoy interacting with the community and working for the preservation of all things connected to Morpeth.”
The floodlights have been in disrepair for some years and were a gift to Morpeth for Australia’s bicentenary celebrations.
Mrs Goodwin is a Maitland “old girl” and attended secondary school at Grossmann House in Church Street when it was Maitland Girls High School.
She is a member of the Dowling family and her great-great-grandfather Sir James Dowling presided over the first circuit court in Maitland held at the Union Inn, East Maitland in 1829.
