The house in Neptune Close has more than 50 decorations and lighting installations that cover the back and front yards as well as the home’s facade.
“When you are a kid you get all excited about Christmas lights, but then you grow up,” Michael Bice said.
“We got into it again when we had the kids.”
It all started with a few fairy lights along the gutter, but now the collection has made the Bice family home a Christmas landmark in the Rutherford neighbourhood.
It takes Mr Bice a few hours’ work each day for about three weeks to set up the Christmas display.
It is made easier thanks to his meticulous storage system, which involves labelled boxes.
He said his favourite decorations were the Australian themed ones, such as the Christmas kangaroo.
“People stop and say how beautiful it is,” daughter Maddison Bice said.
“We have people come from as far as Lake Macquarie and Newcastle.
“A lot of people like to take photos.”
