The development is for 74 self-contained dwellings, a community centre and associated site works at 216 Duckenfield Road.
An initial development application lodged 12 months ago for 176 residential dwellings was withdrawn by the applicant and a new development application lodged.
Maitland City Council development and environment manager David Simm said a report on the matter would go before a council meeting at a later date after all submissions had been received and the application had been assessed by planners.
Council is also assessing modifications to the master plan for Walka Grange Lifestyle Village at Rutherford to include further development opportunities for seniors’ housing.
Berry Park residents had previously expressed concerns about traffic, stormwater and sewerage.
As a result, about 50 Berry Park residents gathered for a community meeting in January last year to discuss the development.
