Ms Enright was speaking to the Maitland Mercury on Sunday after the first official judging session, which included interviews and an assessment of etiquette at a luncheon.
“The standard of all the girls this year has been very high and it is going to be difficult to choose a winner,” Ms Enright said.
The four are Tori Covic from Seaham, Alexis Adams from Loxford, Miranda O’Brien from Millers Forest, and Jessica Allen from Narang.
Ms Covic is the manager of a medical practice and said being a showgirl entrant was good experience and a confidence booster.
Ms O’Brien, a university student studying equine science and Ms Allen, studying English and ancient history,
said they enjoyed meeting the other entrants. And Ms Adams, Miss Maitland entrant in 2014, said the skills the entrants gained would stay with them throughout their lives.
Bronwyn Bell, the girls’ mentor, paid tribute to the sponsors who promoted the Maitland Showgirl Competition.
