Susan Chevis had received the large sculpture as a birthday gift two years ago and displayed it in her front paddock.
Measuring one metre in diameter the sphere-looking sculpture would have been difficult to remove without anyone noticing.
Ms Chevis hoped a call for information might help her find the missing artwork.
“Who would steal a garden sculpture,” she said.
“It is more valuable to me personally than its worth in weight.
“You can’t replace it really.”
The one-of-a-kind piece was made by the talented artists at Wallaby Sculpture Works at Paterson.
Ms Chevis chose it because of the interesting icosahedron design which featured several lions faces.
“It is a very specific design because of the lions faces so I hope that helps to identify it,” she said.
The sculpture was reported missing on Tuesday, but was stolen some time in the past 10 days.
Ms Chevis believed the thieves probably thought the sculpture was copper and therefore worth some money as scrap.
“They are going to get a rude shock when they find out it is just rusted steel,” she said.
Ms Chevis hoped with the help of the community her beloved sculpture could be returned.
Anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the artwork is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
