Newcastle first graders Grant Stewart (University), who lives at Lorn, Joe Price (Toronto) and Nick Foster (Stockton) are confirmed for the two-day match at Blacktown International Sports Park.
New Zealand’s Canterbury are touring Australia at the time and approached Cricket NSW about a possible opponent.
“We thought it was a great opportunity and we jumped at the chance and the boys are looking forward to beating some New Zealanders,” NSW Country operations manager Bruce Whitehouse said.
The Bush Blues’ last match held outside the Country Championships was against Sydney Central at Stockton’s Lynn Oval in 2007. The Bush Blues fielded a formidable bowling attack of future Test quick Josh Hazlewood, Michael Hogan and Mark Cameron.
