The second play-off spot in Hunter Section 1 is almost certain to come down to a last-game showdown between City and Kahiba, after Kahiba dropped 1.5 points to East Cessnock in its 55-51 win.
City and Kahiba are separated by just nine points on the ladder with two rounds remaining.
East Maitland kept its play-off hopes alive with a 72-51 win against Alder Park, but has a tough run home with it’s final game against Hunter Section 2 leaders Soldiers Point.
Beresfield defeated Wallsend 61-49 to remain undefeated at the top of Hunter Section 3.
Kurri Kurri has booked a play-off spot, but had its second loss in a row falling by one shot in a 56-57 loss to Lambton at home.
Kurri leads Section 4 by one point from Nelson Bay.
