Hunter students will be able to hear from a renowned mental health advocate when he comes to Maitland later this month on a mission to share his touching personal story. Nic Newling, who lost his brother to suicide, rose to prominence through his work with the Black Dog Institute.

But after appearing on Australian Story last year, Mr Newling joined the Champions Mental Health Roadshow to travel around the country talking to students. The roadshow will be hosted at East Maitland Bowling Club by the Maitland Suicide Prevention Network from 6.30pm on June 22.
It aims to educate community members on mental health issues, reduce stigma and lower the barriers of entry to mental healthcare services. More information at facebook.com/Newlz
