The scholarship recognises and offers a financial award to a woman (or women) currently enrolled in and undertaking second year or higher in a recognised non-traditional trade qualification within the Hunter.
Previous winners include a plumber, a carpenter, a fitter/machinist, surveyor, and heavy vehicle mechanic.
The proceedings have been changed for this year – each finalist will make a short presentation to the panel of judges at the event with the 2016 winner to be announced subsequently.
Applications for the scholarship closed on July 1.
The event will be held on July 17 in the dining room at Tocal College.
Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members. For more information visit hunterwomen.org.au.
